Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce

The Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce is the ‘voice of business’ in Abbotsford, a British Columbian city with a population just shy of 134,000. In addition to providing benefits like business networking, the ACOC advocates the public policies it believes will support a robust local economy. The ACOC recruits my business writing services when it needs support fulfilling its mandate of thought leadership and advocacy.

I partner with the ACOC, learning about its priorities, and providing analysis, research, and business writing services for select projects. For example, I wrote the final report on the ACOC-led Abbotsford 2020 project. This report prepared the ACOC to approach a municipal election and Official Community Plan process with a clear understanding of the concerns, desires, and ideas arising from Abbotsford’s business community, special interest groups, and general public.

I also wrote the ACOC’s two (approved) submissions to the BC Chamber of Commerce’s 2015 policy-development process. These resolutions represents the ACOC’s contribution to a first-class process that annually generates crucial policy recommendations for the majority of British Columbia’s provincial government ministries.
